The "One Bag" mindset

Mere days from now I get on a one-way flight with a carefully packed bag on my back and great gratitude for this opportunity. It's a crossroads for me - freshly jobless after almost 30 years, single, and spending considerable time pondering what the next chapter will bring. Getting outside my comfort zone for an extended trip feels like a catalyst. For what, I'm not sure yet, but discomfort and breaking routine feel necessary. Delayed mid-life crisis vibes abound.

The impetus to start something as old-school as a blog was to share my trip, and maybe the things I learn over the coming year. My disdain for social media means I refuse to get back on the platforms to document and share, despite the extra lift this chosen format entails. Consequently, curating what I share and trying to describe why I'm sharing feels more personal and meaningful, acting more as a journal than public display. That feels important to me.

If you're here, you were probably invited. I hope what I share means something to us both.
